Dearest Harman…

Happy Birthday!!!

 happy_birthday

This is the third birthday that I’ve been able to wish Harman on. The first time we had only been friend for about 1 month, and I was going to wish you a ‘Happy Birthday’ on Orkut, but upon seeing the hundreds of friends who had already scrapped you with their wishes, I almost didn’t bother.. I thought.. he won’t even notice my wishes amongst all of these other ones, and plus, he seems so popular he probably doesn’t even remember who I am.   In the end, I DID wish him a very happy 23rd birthday.. and the rest is history ;)

Harman’s next 2 birthdays came and went with us both wishing so, so, much that one year we could actually be together to celebrate! Well finally we are in the same country and same state as each other.. but not the same city. We decided that is would be most sensible if we didn’t meet up on Harman’s actual birthday due to uni classes meaning we would only see each other for about 3hrs and I would travel 5hrs (but I wouldn’t have minded.. I would travel 5hrs just to spend 20min with Harman :) ). Instead, I’m going to visit Harman on Saturday.. and we have the entire day until 5pm to have fun!! I can’t wait!! :)

Did you know that?

Every time you walk into a room I can’t wait to see you smile at me..

Travelling for 3 hours seems like travelling for 30 minutes when you are with me..

Listening to you talk makes me happy..   :) :) :) :)

Talking with you makes me laugh… :) )

Thinking about you makes me dream…

main tainu pyar kardi han.

Love,

Mary

‘Love’ly letters December 16, 2008

A lot has happened in our lives since we last posted on this blog. As we both have had plenty reasons to stay really busy in life, our blogs and emails have decreased.  But we’ve atleast managed to chat most days of the week almost all year long. Our extra-ordinary love story keeps getting more out of the ordinary day by day. But i know Mary would agree to when i say that we don’t mind our love story to get a little ordinary, especially the part where we get to see each other more often than half a time in three and a half years (we were on the same continent once). It does get difficult at times to maintain a long distance relationship, but then again that just tests the depths of love.

One thing that helps in keeping our relation going, infact makes it more lovely is as simple as pen and paper. Mary loves to write and read letters, and as we both agree that a physical letters means a lot more than an email or a chat. This fondness of hers has woken up the 5 year old kid in me, who used to love writing letters so much that he would write garbish (cause he hadn’t learnt to write yet :)  ) and post letters to himself. While I’ve been lazy enough to write letters only twice an year, Mary’s been much more frequent in writing letters.

In this blog i would like to write about the most recent letters that i’ve got from Mary. She sent me a lovely stuffed toy, nut chocolates and handwritten letters. Guess how many? Not one, not two, not even five but 8 letters. Am i lucky or what? :)   i get 8 lovely letters from the loveliest person on the planet and what is the occasion? Nothing  :) , She was just missing me and i was unavailable for chat, so she wrote me letters which she could post to me later. Thanks a lot Mary for the lovely letters. Words coming directly from the heart have a special meaning.

Next comes the Chocolates. Mary how did you know i love the nuts + chocolates combo? I got this packets of chocolates which is native to Australia because of the nuts used.

When i got the chocolates, i told myself – Harman, don’t finish it off immediately, eat and cherish the extra sweetness of this chocolate for a few days. But the chocolates were so yummy, that i would convince myself to have just “that one more piece” of chocolate. Before i knew, three quarters of the chocolate was finished within 1 hour of opening it J. Putting in my best efforts, i managed to delay finishing off the chocolates to the next day.

Next comes Jumpy. Yes i’ve given my stuff toy a name. Since he’s from Australia you must have guessed he’s a Kangaroo (i still cant believe people eat kangaroos ). Here see for yourself how cute the infant looks.

Jumpy

Well Mary since you got the toy for children above 3 yrs old, you guessed my age perfectly.. he he. And your prank worked out perfectly, even better than you would have expected. Jumpy was packed in a Tin can, and i didn’t have a can opener. I tried to open the can using combination of nailcutter, knife etc and eventually it took me 2 days and several attempts to open it :)  . Not only that, once the can cover was opened by me, i was confused if the if the toy would jump out of the can or even if it was real or fake. Call me stupid but the fur felt really real. Finally i was able to take out the toy and found it to be so extra cute (why do they eat them :(  - he he). Jumpy even has a pouch where my fingers rest when they feel cold  :P .

Well Mary, thanks once again for the lovely gifts and letters. You made an ordinary day, a special one for me.

Dear Harman and all readers of Punjab2Perth,

Wishing you all a very, very happy and fulfilling 2007!
May you all achieve everything you work hard for!

Now for my New Year’s Resolutions..

  • To meet Harman in 2007 (I really really hope I can do this)
To achieve this goal I will have to grow up, convince my parents I can go to India, and convince Harman I’ll be ok visiting a new country!  sounds like a good and challenging aim!

  • To sucessfully complete another year of University, and to live away from home in the 2nd half of this year.
Once again, this is mainly a planning goal.. I should achieve this with hard work!

  • To train hard in the sports I play this year. And to have lots of fun doing it!
2006 was my most successful year for swimming, although I hardly did any training due to lack of time and a shift of focus in life (my goals were in study, not sport)  I want to have a great training plan in place so I can swim really fast in 2008!

  • To learn how to drive!
I can hear all my family/relatives/friends/work mates all going ‘arrrrghhhhhh learn to drive Mary!!!’   hehe.. I did leave learning to drive later than most people usually do. ( I started when I was 19, and have had about 6 lessons since then! :P )  but this year I really am going to try hard to get my restricted licence.

  • To learn to speak/write some Punjabi!
I can get Harman to teach me! :D / ;)   hehehe.. hear that Harman? you are my teacher of Punjabi for the next year/s.   My aim is to learn 1 new language every year at least till I’m 30.  that way I’ll know around 10 languages :D cool na?

And Finally,

  • To always tell Harman how much he means to me.
    :) :) :) :) :) :)
